The puppy, belonging to the Wilson family, had been basking in the morning sun just moments earlier. Now, the little dog was gone and the entire neighborhood was buzzing with confusion and disbelief. The Wilsons were heartbroken. “He was right there! How could this happen so fast?” cried Mrs. Wilson, as neighbors gathered around trying to make sense of what they’d witnessed.
Before long, a small search party formed. Determined to find the missing pup, they grabbed flashlights, binoculars, and whatever courage they could muster. A few neighbors threw on jackets and boots, while others called out the puppy’s name, hoping for any sound in return. The urgency in the air was impossible to ignore, as fear and hope pushed them forward at the same time. No one wanted to imagine the worst, but every second felt critical. They exchanged brief, worried glances, silently urging each other to keep going. Together, they set off toward the wooded hills behind the subdivision — the same direction the eagle had flown, hearts pounding and minds racing with what they might find.
